Hanoi, the heart of Vietnam.

You cannot but admire the courageous people with what is probably the best attitude in the world. Vietnam has existed for 4.000 years and is one of the oldest existing cultures. From our limited Western point of view all we tend to focus on is the Vietnam War but the tale goes further than that. Vietnam has been ruled by the Chinese, attacked by the Mongolians (three times!), ruled by the French, attacked by the Japanese so the final beating of US forces was just the end of a long story.

The last 20 years has been good to Vietnam; the GNP has doubled every decade and they now have one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
